Reiss Thomson – Construction Manager

With over 17 years’ experience in the construction industry, Reiss is a Building Surveyor trained to RICS standards at Anglia Ruskin University (Essex), who has developed high-level Construction Management skills with a long-term role as Technical Manager of a national construction firm and, in more recent years, operating as a consultant working predominantly with Housing Associations in a multi-faceted role combining Building Surveying, Quantity Surveying, Project Management and Principal Design Services. He obtained a degree, studying part-time over six years whilst working full-time in a very challenging environment. This balance of training and experience enables Reiss to add value to any project team and helps ensure a project is delivered to a high standard. His core skills translate well to the delivery of quality Extra Care facilities which rely heavily on suitable end user specification, whilst providing a built product which is buildable, affordable and easy to maintain.

Reiss has delivered a diverse range of projects covering (but not limited to) affordable housing, private residential, estate refurbishment, leisure facilities and airspace development. In the main, these projects have been taken from initial client brief and concept design, through to planning and construction. Reiss has also been commissioned to strategise and implement resolution measures on a number of high-profile patent and latent defect projects. High level management skills and a keen technical eye help deliver a client’s vision throughout the project stages.

His unique skill sets enable him to plan and implement core strategies, whilst making educated and incisive decisions at the heart of a development scheme. With a focus on delivery, Reiss is a key member of the project team, ensuring stakeholders are managed and communication is uninhibited. His expertise enhances Morgan Sindall Later Living’s role as Developer and offers a flexibility in the core project team that is essential for project success.
